After the Ascension of the Lord, the apostles and disciples gathered in prayerful waiting for the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise. They prepared for the empowering experiences and indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
In the season of Pentecost, we carry to the other persons in the world the victory Christ gives over sin, eternal death and self-centered living.
We go forth as energized disciples to evangelize. In this way, we serve to gain other disciples for Christ.
Our goals are to challenge and transform the kingdoms of the world as we live in and under the domain of God. This is “the work of” the Church!
With the power of the holy Spirit v(the breath/life of God) in us and this world, there can be no more excuses for failures to joyfully and successfully live as “disciples putting love-in-action.”
