The Season of Christmas

Christmas is the second season of the Christian Year (Calendar). After the Day of Christmas, we observe this season for two Sundays.

These seasons challenge us to grow in spiritual understanding and the life of Christian discipleship.

Advent taught us hope vanquishes sin-caused despair. Christmas brings God’s presence in Jesus’ (Immanuel) teaching and demonstration of the Way. Epiphany, the next season, will offer us a fuller understanding of Jesus, the Infant of Bethlehem, who is to be understood as the Love (compassion in action) of God for marginalized, despised and rejected persons.

In mission witnessing, we shout Jesus has come! Our experiences of Jesus as God’s Love will cause us to “Go, Tell It On the Mountain!”
